🧼 Quick tip
Crochet loves gentle care: hand washing remains the best option to preserve the shape, embroidery, and hairstyle.
HAND WASHING (recommended)
I strongly recommend washing anything made in crochet by hand.
It does not take much time and will save you from having to fix things afterwards (repositioning the eye embroidery, smoothing the hair, etc.).
If you really have to use the washing machine
Put the plushie/comforter inside a clean, light-colored stocking
⚠️ Never use black or colored fabric: it may bleed.
- If needed, a clean white pillowcase works very well too.
Tie a knot so the plushie stays safely inside.
Recommended settings:
- Delicate cycle (or Wool, depending on the machine)
- 30°C maximum
- 800 rpm spin maximum
💡 Tip: add a light-colored towel to the drum to soften impacts.
DRYING
Let it dry naturally on a towel, lying flat if possible.
⚠️ Absolutely no tumble dryer!
Estimated drying times:
- ~24 h in summer
- 48 to 72 h in winter (depending on the room temperature)
CARE
(after washing or very big cuddles)
Eyes (embroidery)
The embroidery may shift a little. No panic!
Using a needle (or a hairpin), gently move the embroidery back into place.
Stuffing
After a machine wash, the stuffing may move around.
Once it is completely dry, reshape the plushie with your hands to restore the volume where you want it.
A thread sticking out?
No panic. Do not cut it if possible.
Tuck it back inside the plushie with a needle (or a hairpin).
What about dust?
To remove dust from your plushie while it strikes its best pose on the shelf, just use a lint roller 😉.
Gently roll it over the plushie and bye-bye dust!
